As sad as it is to say, high school is a prime example of not loving the people around you
with the same love that God has for His children. As a senior in high school, I can’t help but look
back on the last four years when I had this same trouble of finding exactly where I needed to
be and the lack of respect I had for myself and others around me. During my freshman year, I
was put to the test. Most people thought I had it all: the popular group of friends, the role of
teacher’s pet, and the football linebacker as my boyfriend. I lived the life that most girls wanted
to live in high school. My sophomore year began to roll around, but things began to change. My
relationship with the football linebacker was beginning to take a turn for the worst, and by the
end, it was all gone. I had no friends. My grades began to sink and the teachers no longer thought
of me as they had before. I was no longer the girl that I most wanted to be.
share with everyone about their self-worth and the love that God has for them. The friends a person
may have or that popular boyfriend that, at the time, you think will be your forever will not. The
respect you show for others will reflect back on you and you will regret ever making fun of the
people you now can relate to. God’s plan for everyone is so much larger than just having the best
four years of high school. I would also like to encourage other Christian men and women to
become apart of some kind of ministry. After joining Christian Women Connection, I have
began to share experiences of church and ministries in the church where I attend, such as a local
sex trafficking event that a church member put together in order to spread awareness and love to
young boys and girls. This ministry really put into perspective the kind of love we should all
have for one another. I would also encourage teenage students to pick their priorities wisely
during their high school experience. Always putting God first and the plan that He has for you
will guarantee success. However, it is important to realize that mistakes will be made, but it is
what you do with the mistakes that makes for a great ending to your high school career. I have
learned that God will always put trials and tribulations in the way, in order for you to succeed in
life. It is also important to explain to young people who aren’t saved the importance of struggling
even when saved. Just because a person asks the Lord into their heart does not make for a perfect
life. There will always be troubles and temptations that everyone will face, but it is the people
who have Jesus as their Savior who will succeed and come out stronger. God will be our water
when we feel washed out or dry in our walk with Christ. He is our Living Water.
