Congratulations McKenzie Meadows!
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to
lay down one’s life for one’s friend” (John 15:12-13).

"After joining Christian Women Connection, I have
began to share experiences of church and ministries in the church where I attend, such as a local
sex trafficking event that a church member put together in order to spread awareness and love to
young boys and girls. This ministry really put into perspective the kind of love we should all
have for one another. I would also encourage teenage students to pick their priorities wisely
during their high school experience. Always putting God first and the plan that He has for you
will guarantee success."

The Memorial Award for 2018 was presented to the Elkhorn City First Church of God CWC in honor of Sherry Louise Good, their CWC President at the time of her death. Sherry was highly respected and loved by her peers and friends. She was a nurse at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Williamson KY for 34 years in the intensive care unit. She loved being a nurse, a grandma and also to read and do crafts. She was a member of the Elkhorn City First Church of God.

Her friends say of her that she was a good worker, a good worker in the church, volunteered to do as much as possible, a good person, committed to church and the Lord, and always willing and eager to do more.  She was always eager to try new mission projects with the CWC ladies; they collected pill bottles one year to send to veterans care. She sang in the choir, had just been elected as superintendent of Sunday School at her church, and was the President of the local Christian Women Connection at Elkhorn City First Church of God. She had two daughters and one granddaughter who was her delight.

MABEL JOHNSON WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2018 - KY CWC

5/11/2018

Rev. Delores ‘Dee’ Padgett was honored with the Mabel Johnson Woman of the Year Award.  Sis. Dee was unable to attend the convention so her pastor, Rev. Robert White, received the award for her.  And when she was presented the award in her home church, Madisonville First Church of God, she was completely surprised!  Oh what fun to surprise Dee.

MABEL JOHNSON WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2018

The person chosen for the Mabel Johnson Woman of the Year Award for 2018 has served the Lord in ministry at her local church, CWC locally, the Kentucky Christin Women Connection.
She had a wonderful Christian heritage having grown up in the Church of God.  She was saved at the age of 6 after a revival service. She attended a one room school for her first 8 years of school.  She attended college and was married while attending college.  She took time away from college to raise her two daughters.

She has been very active in her local church where she has been a choir member, leading the singing; taught Sunday School; served as local WCG president.   And, she is currently the Church treasurer.
She also serves the community volunteering in whatever way she can.  She has served on the YMCA Board, Habitat for Humanity Board and the Habitat for Humanity local store.  She has volunteered at the shelter for homeless women, homeless shelter program, and at a nursing home.
She has served as spiritual director on several 72-hour spiritual renewal experience over the past several years. She has served on two mission trips . . . .  one to Guam and one to Ecuador.  She makes little girl dresses to send to Uganda.

Presently, she is serving as the secretary on the Executive Council of Kentucky Church of God Ministries. All of us in the Christian Women Connection ministry love and respect her.  And, tonight we honor Rev. Delores ‘Dee’ Padgett.

Congratulations, Sis. Dee, we love you and appreciate all of your work in the Christian Women Connection.  I know it has been a labor of love and continues to be, but we appreciate it and appreciate you. - Patsy Daugherty & Kentucky Christian Women Connection
