Zuline Gray Wilkinson attends the West Oak Lane Church of God, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She has served the congregation as Director of the Board of Christian Education, Member of Church Council, Choir President and Sunday School staff. She was also appointed to develop the congregation’s social ministry, Hand and Hope, Inc. In its first four years, Hand andHope reached more than 4000 individuals and families by spearheading programs including food to the hungry and homeless; blankets for one of Philadelphia’s largest family shelters; an adult literacy program; youth mentoring and assistance in the aftermath of 911 and Hurricane Katrina; annual blood drives; Community Law Day events and Christmas gifts for children of incarcerated fathers.
In her professional life, Zuline is respected for her demonstrated commitment to making a difference in the quality of life for diverse populations and her skill as a change agent. Her experience includes Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Department of Health and Hospitals (Boston), CEO of UIH Family Partners (Trenton) and Vice President, The Home for Little Wanderers (Boston). She has successfully collaborated in the development of productive and innovative private/public partnerships and has advocated for better public policy targeted to children and families. She has presented at conferences across the nation, including testimony before the United States Commission on Civil Rights. Zuline has written for professional publications; her leadership has been recognized with various awards and honors.
Minister Zuline combines an emphasis on social ministry and her gift of teaching in a unique approach to making the Word relevant to current societal issues. She has created lesson series which have been included in the curriculum of the In-Service Training Institute of the National Association of the Church of God: Faith in Action: A Christian Perspective on Social Ministry; Alternative Lifestyles; HIV/AIDS and The Titus 2 Woman.
Zuline has also conducted workshops at national conventions of Women of the Church of God and Christian Women’s Connection including: The Lord of Victory: Relinquishing the Past; Toward Weightless Living and Titus 2 Women.
A graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Social Work degree, Zuline, has pursued post graduate study at LaSalle University, Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently at Princeton Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Divinity degree.
