Wanda O. Holt is a wife, mom, sister, grandma, writer, insurance agent, friend, speaker, encourager, and child of God. Wanda and her husband, Jerry, live in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, and attend the Grace Place (Hermitage Church of God). Wanda is a health insurance agent and is actively involved in the local business community. Jerry and Wanda lived in Jerry’s hometown of Greeneville, Tennessee, for 30 years and attended Cedar Creek Church of God. Wanda has served in various local, state and national positions with the Women of the Church of God, now Christian Women Connection. She and Jerry have two daughters. Daughter Carla along with her husband and two children live in Greeneville, Tennessee. Daughter Kelly lives in Nashville.
Wanda has been writing since she started recording all her deepest secrets in a red, leather diary as a young girl. Her best secret was giving her heart to Jesus during Vacation Bible School at Hermitage Church of God at an early age. Wanda’s writing focuses on Christian principles through skits, plays, programs, and speaking engagements for churches and various organizations, but she has dabbled in some fiction including a few teenage, love stories in junior high. By writing weekly, small group curriculum for her local church, Wanda helps others dig deeper into God’s Word. She also writes blogs on a variety of Christian, business, and cooking topics. Wanda is currently working on combining her interests into a devotional cookbook.
Wanda’s book, BROKEN: Finding God’s Purpose from Brokenness, was written as an assignment from her pastor for their local congregation. Each week of the 12-week, daily devotional focuses on a different area of brokenness by study of scripture and thought-provoking questions. Weekly group discussion questions are also included.

BROKEN: Finding Purpose from Brokenness is a twelve-week, 5-day a week, gender neutral, Bible-based devotional that started as a request from my pastor for a daily devotional to accompany his sermon series. The book covers eight broken topics: promises, communications, relationships, churches, self-esteem, bodies, hearts and finances. The last four weeks are our response to brokenness: Broken praise, broken will, broken but not finished and broken for a purpose. The 120-page book also includes weekly resources suitable for small group discussion and access to online, weekly accompanying videos.
Here are some pre-publication reviews:
We all are broken at some point in our life, in some area of our life. Wanda has pinpointed practical ways to find healing, wholeness, and recovery from our broken areas. This devotional speaks in clear, precise, honest, and loving ways. Based on the words of Jesus and Truth in Scripture, Wanda guides us to find Hope for our brokenness. I wholeheartedly recommend this study. -- Donna Pierce, Pastor’s Wife and Friend
Wanda’s insightful use of scripture brings to the issue of brokenness an understanding of God’s direction and guidance through life’s problems. This series lights a path out of brokenness. -- Ron Culberson, Retired environmental regulator for the State of Tennessee and member of Tennessee Ministries Council for the Church of God
I love this study!!! I love that you intertwined scripture with real life stories/applications. So many studies I've taught have life applications with very little scripture. The addition of scripture draws people deep. I also like that it isn't specific to one gender. I love this and would be privileged to teach it! -- Becca Christiansen, Pastor’s wife and bible study teacher
